If it helps I didn't really use any soft synths until playing with the trackers, since I started playing with synths to escape my laptop, but still play with machines. the question for me is, should i stick with the sunvox, which has felt like a joy to use, or set my sights on acquiring a polyend tracker. I'm making music entirely for fun, and didn't really get into synths into I found myself stuck at home with poor health a couple of years ago. When the polyend tracker was introduced around the start of our shelter in place order in california (roughly early March), I was totally intrigued by tracker software and thought I might save for it, even though I'm recently disabled and since I live in the USA that means I better get used to the limited and diminishing horizon of the rest of my life, but anyway.
